William L. Carroll, M.D. graduated as the Class Commencement speaker for his class of 250 from Jefferson Medical College in 1989. After graduation he completed a Family Medicine residency program at the Christiana Care Center (The Medical Center of Delaware, Christiana Hospital, and The A.I. Dupont Hospital for Children).

Dr. Carroll is board certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is a member of the American Association of Family Physicians. He maintains a staff position at The Main Line Health Hospital with primary privileges at Paoli Memorial Hospital.

Dr. Carroll is also the School Physician for Marple Newtown School District. In addition, he serves the Marple Newtown School System as their Coordinator of Special Needs Program, providing medical review for all of the IEPs (Individual Educational Program) throughout the school district. He enjoys being a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Family Practice, teaching 3rd and 4th year Jefferson medical students.

His practice, Newtown Edgemont Family Medicine, has been in existence since 1992 with Dr. Carroll being a cofounder with Dr. Madeline Wood. Dr. Carroll also works at various sites of the Devereux Foundation and the Melmark Home providing medical care for children, adolescents, and adults with both physical and mental disabilities.

Preventative medicine and adult medicine are among his special interests. He recognizes the importance of treating the whole family and being a part of the growth and change of each member. He is married and has three grown children and one grandson.
